Introduction To Everest Base Camp Trek In Nepal

The Everest Base Camp Trek is a playground for adventure and thrill-seekers from all over the world.

Our adventure begins with a breathtaking 45-minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. The trek begins and ends in Lukla (2,840 meters/9,317 feet). You’ve arrived in the Khumbu region of northeastern Nepal, where Everest is located.

The long hike in the Khumbu Region begins after arriving at the Lukla Airport, and our destination for the day is Phakding. The thrill of hiking is not in reaching the destination, but in taking in the breathtaking landscape along the way. We’ll pass via Chaurikharka Village before descending to Dudhkoshi Ghat (2,530m/8,300ft).

You’ll pass through traditional Sherpa communities, stunning vistas, verdant woods, and multiple suspension bridges along the journey. Chaurikharka, Chheplung, Nachipang, and Koshigaun are some of the important settlements between Lulka and Phakding. These communities are located along the Dudh Koshi Riverbank at an elevation of more than 2,500 meters/ 8,202 feet.

You can observe lovely blue pines growing by the river valleys if you hike during the spring (March to May). We’ll be staying in Phakding for the night.

The journey’s next day will be even more exciting. You will begin your trip to Namche Bazaar after breakfast. The routes are difficult, but the views of plowed fields, verdant woodlands, and rolling slopes will undoubtedly inspire you to continue on your journey. It will also be the first time you see the massive mountain rise majestically into the sky.

As you progress down the trails, you’ll see that you’re surrounded by extremely high mountain peaks, some of which are over 6000 meters tall. We will reach Sagarmatha National Park as we continue our trip, where we will register our permits for a future expedition.

We’ll keep going on our EBC adventure till we arrive in Namche Bazaar, the base camp for Mount Everest. Approximately 98 percent of the total residences in this area are used as local restaurants and lodges, so you will have the opportunity to mingle with the people in Namche Bazaar if you so desire.

Tok Tok, Benkar, Jorsalle, and Monjo are popular stops between Phakding and Namche Bazar (3,440 m/11,286 ft). Huge stones etched in Buddhist script can be seen in all of these communities.

In Sherpa, these stones are referred to as Mane and Chortens. People believe that these stones offer good fortune and best wishes to both locals and visitors. For good luck, it is said that you should circle these stones clockwise.

The trek in this location allows you to take in the sights of tens of thousands of prayer flags and massive prayer wheels (spinning bells), while the cool breeze from the river reminds you that you’ve already climbed a significant distance.

As we make our way to Namche Bazaar, we pass via several towering suspension bridges. There is an astonishing spot where we can view two suspension bridges, one after the other, suspended between the same hill stations, which seems like something out of a sci-fi movie. You can hear the river currents flowing down below as you pass the bridge.

On your way to Namche Bazaar, you’ll also get to see the amazing Hillary suspension bridge. Prayer flags and khata are tied to this bridge (a yellowish holy cloth piece used in important events ).

Namche Bazaar is reached after a tough uphill hike. You’ll have grown a lot of height by then, and you’ll need some time to adjust.

We’ll take you to the Sherpa Museum to make the most of this time. This museum is operated by a local photographer named Sonam, and it contains traditional Sherpa household items, an art gallery, and glimpses of Sherpa history.

You will also visit Syangboche Airport, Nepal’s highest airport. Despite the fact that this airport has been closed for nearly a decade, the views from there are breathtaking. Hillary School, Yak Farm, Hotel Everest View (one of the world’s highest hotels), and the iconic Khumjung Monastery are all worth seeing.

We will leave Namche Bazaar after a day of acclimatization and continue our journey to Tengboche, another Khumbu region beauty. The famed Tengboche Monastery is located at a height of 3,867 meters (12,687 feet), and the surroundings are serene, calm, and ideal for meditation and prayer.

All you can hear are the noises of birds and animals, particularly the Danfe (Himalayan monal) and musk deer, as well as the echo of air, struck into the Himalayas. The grandeur of this monastery is enhanced by the backdrop of Mt. Ama Dablam.

The route itself from Namche to Tengboche is up and down, with views of Nuptse, Lhotse, and other peaks along the way. You will feel a spiritual sensation in the atmosphere as we pass by the monasteries on our journey to the Base Camp. After trekking roughly nine kilometers, we will spend the night in Tengboche.

We will gather ourselves the next morning and trek to Dingboche (4410m/14470ft), from there we can see the entire Himalayan ranges in the Khumbu region, including Lhotse (8,516m/27,940 ft), Nuptse (7,861m/25,791 ft), Makalu (8,485m/27,838ft), Cho Oyu (8,189m/26,867ft), Am

The walk is about 11 kilometers long, and we expect it to take us around six hours. We first descend into the forest, past the little hamlet of Deboche, and over a suspension bridge to reach Pangboche village, where the Pangboche Monastery is located, on our way to Dingboche from Tengboche.

Pangboche Monastery is one of the oldest monasteries in contemporary history, having been built in the 16th century. Pictures are not permitted in the Pangboche monastery, as they are in all other monasteries.

We’ll spend some time in Pangboche taking in the scenery. Then, to get to Dingboche, we’ll pass through Shomare Village and over another suspension bridge.

As we get closer to base camp, you’ll be gradually ascending to higher altitudes. Barley, buckwheat, and potato crops are encircled by stone walls in the Dingboche region.

By the time you reach Dingboche, you’ll have ascended to a high altitude, and it’ll be time to acclimate once more. We’ll take you to the ridge above Dingboche to see Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Island Peak, Cho Oyu, and Makalu on this day.

We’ll also go to Imja Lake (5,004m/16,417ft), which is where the river flows east to the settlement.

Following a day at Dingboche, we’ll go to Lobuche (4,940 meters/16,210 feet). You’ll be traveling alongside the Khumbu Glacier to get to Lobuche, but you’ll begin by ascending the Pheriche village trail. This section of the walk will take you to higher elevations and through the Thukla Pass before arriving at the Khumbu Glacier.

The memorial park is located directly above the Thukla pass on the road to Lobuche. This park is made up of a complete hill that is covered in stones in honor of the Sherpas and those who died in this region. As you progress, you’ll see vistas of Pumori, Lingtren, and Khumbutse before arriving in Lobuche. That night, we’ll stay in Lobuche.

Lobuche is located about 8.5 kilometers southwest of the Base Camp and offers a unique view of the mountain.

After spending the night in Lobuche, you’re on your way to the base camp itself. You will, however, hike to Gorak Shep (5,164m/16,942 feet) and spend some time viewing the Army Mountaineers Memorials before arriving at EBC.

You will leave your stuff at Gorak Shep and trek alongside the Khumbu Glacier till you reach the EBC. The trail has a lot of steep climbs, but the vistas of beautiful lakes, glaciers, and icefalls will be worth it.

We’ll spend some time at EBC and take a breather to enjoy the natural splendor of the world’s highest peak. Mt. Everest is seldom to be seen from such a close distance. It’s most likely the highest altitude you’ll ever reach in your life.

The trails are difficult, and you’ll have overcome altitude, cold weather, and rough terrain by then. It’s a great accomplishment. Your footprint will be left on the lap of the world’s highest peak. The Khumbu Glacier, the world’s deepest glacier, may also be seen from the EBC camp.

For the evening, we’ll return to Gorak Shep and spend the night there. Our journey the next day will take us to Kala Patthar, where we will be able to see the sunrise over Mt. Everest and other peaks.

We’ll take in the scenery for a while before returning to Gorak Shep for breakfast and rest. We will rest before hiking to Pheriche village, where we will spend the night.

We’ll leave Pheriche village the next day and travel to Tengboche. The road winds through rhododendron groves, and juniper woodlands, and crosses the Imja Khola on a bridge. After a final difficult ascent, you’ll arrive at Tengboche, where you’ll spend the rest of the day.

We will return to Namche Bazaar the next day. Wildlife like pheasants, musk deer, mountain goats, and even snow leopards may be seen along the road. It’s a fantastic day to sit and unwind at Namche Bazaar, where we’ll also stay the night since we’ve been walking for a long time.

We will return to Phakding after breakfast at Namche Bazaar. It shouldn’t be too difficult because it’s a downhill move. We’ll simply follow the Dudh Koshi River’s banks and cross multiple suspension bridges along the way. At Phakding, we’ll spend the night.

It’s finally time to return to Lukla. To get to Lukla, continue following the Dudh Koshi River and ascend a steep incline from Phakding. Your mount EBC package is almost finished at this point, and this is your final hike for the trip. You’ll spend the night in Lukla before returning to Kathmandu the next day.

If all goes according to plan, you’ll fly from Lukla to Kathmandu on the fourteenth day.

We recommend all our valuable clients arrive at Kathmandu at least one day earlier (in the afternoon) before the day we depart for the trek for proper guidance, checking equipment, weather briefing, and emotional support. We also recommend adding one or two days to your journey in case flights from Kathmandu to Lukla or Lukla to Kathmandu are delayed due to inclement weather.

Two nights at a hotel in Kathmandu are required before and after the trek but are not included in the package. Kathmandu offers a wide choice of accommodations to suit all budgets.

Hot showers and Wi-Fi are available on the route, but they come at a premium.

What about the Food

Because the hike takes place at a high altitude, your body will require a sufficient supply of carbs, proteins, and other nutrients. In many regions, you’ll find plenty of healthful and excellent cuisine, but your options are limited. In Kathmandu, there are numerous dining options.

In trek regions, we will serve 14 breakfasts, 14 lunches, and 14 dinners.

The following are some of the most popular menu items:

Oatmeal, Corn Flakes, French Toast with Jam, Butter, Cheese, and Honey Tibetan Bread or Chapati are among the thirteen-morning options. We choose the best lodges that serve food that is fresh, clean, flavorful, and nutritional. Local, Asian, and Western cuisines are available on the menu, but as you climb higher, your options become more limited.

At trek locations, we strongly advise drinking plenty of liquids such as green, ginger, and lemon tea, hot lemon, garlic soup (must), and fresh veggies.

Though non-vegetarian options abound in hike locations, we do not advocate them due to cleanliness concerns. Similarly, alcoholic and caffeinated beverages, hot chocolates, and dairy products should be avoided.

All personal bills (alcoholic, hot (tea/coffee), and cold drinks) in teahouses/lodges or cafés are excluded from the package, save for standard meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner with seasonal fruits).

What is the best time to visit EBC?

One of the most crucial elements to consider while hiking to Base Camp is the weather. You can receive a live weather prediction for Mt. Everest here, but accurate forecasting is practically impossible.

Throughout the year, tourists, professional climbers, and locals ascend to the Base Camp. Throughout the seasons, though, there are ups and downs. The greatest time to go hiking is in the spring or autumn. Normally, the sky is clear from sunset until dawn during these times. The most breathtaking vistas are provided by the bright azure skies.

One of the greatest times to visit EBC is in the spring (February to June). As the monsoon fades, ideal trekking weather appears, and most trekkers flock to EBC at this time. The temperature reaches 20 degrees during the day and 5 degrees at night. This is the greatest time to see the sights.

Flights to Lukla may be canceled frequently during the rainy season (June-September), yet hikers continue to trek at this time. We will conduct treks securely even if you want to hike during the rainy season. The trails are less congested during the off-season.

Autumn (September-November) brings cooler weather, and as the season develops, snowfall makes EBC trekking more difficult. The nights are getting cooler. During this season, Nepalese celebrate two of their most important festivals: Dashain and Tihar. Trekking is much more enjoyable during this season because of the joyful atmosphere.

From December to February, the weather becomes bitterly cold, and snow begins to fall. The weather in the Himalayas is fickle, and temperatures can shift dramatically in a matter of hours! If you want to go trekking during this season, we can arrange safe hikes for you.

The weather in the Himalayas is fickle, and temperatures can swing dramatically.

Acclimatization during EBC Trekking

Acclimatization is critical on high-altitude hikes like the EBC. If you go higher than 8000 feet, you’re more likely to get altitude sickness (2438.4m). Gains of up to 5,000 meters necessitate careful consideration.

At Namche and Dingboche, we’ve set aside two days for acclimatization. The trek’s highest peak is Kalapatthar (5,555m).

Altitude sickness is a common concern on high mountain journeys, but it is treatable and requires quick treatment. However, ignoring altitude sickness symptoms might lead to serious consequences.

At an elevation of 3,500 meters, mountain sickness is common. Our trekking leaders and guides are well-versed in altitude sickness prevention and utilize oximeters to monitor your oxygen levels.

Our routes are designed to prevent altitude sickness by allowing time for acclimatization and a gentle ascent. We also recommend that you drink plenty of water as a precaution. However, you do not need to be concerned about altitude sickness because our experts will monitor your health and advise you on how to avoid it. In the event of a severe illness, the only appropriate treatment is to descend as soon as possible.

Because some people are more vulnerable than others, your group leader will decide whether or not to call a halt to your ascent based on the overall state of each team member.

The EBC Trek 2021 | Group Trek | Private Trek

We organize both group and private treks. Group discounts are available dependent on the size of your group. The larger your group, the greater the savings. Please see our price list for further information. Simply click the – we offer group discounts – link on the right.

Having said that, we can accommodate groups of any size and even add an assistant guide for groups of 12 or more.

A typical day on the Everest Trek

Every day will be different, with activities such as enjoying the journey and scenery, shooting photos, and touring the surrounding villages. As you trek, qualified expert Sherpas will provide you with information and historical details about the locations.
The majority of your luggage will be carried by our porters, but you may need to bring a small normal bag for your valuables.

After breakfast, we head off on the day’s walk between 7 and 8 a.m., depending on the length and character of the hike. After three to four hours of hiking, we’ll stop for lunch and an hour of recuperation before continuing our journey.

The afternoon stroll is usually shorter, lasting between two and three hours. You can enjoy the refreshments after you get to your overnight lodge/tea house/tent, and then you are free to explore the area.

Dinner is served between 6 and 7 p.m. After supper, you have some free time to engage in casual chat. The excursion leader/guide will give you an overview of the next day’s activities. After the briefing, you can play Monopoly, play cards, or watch mountaineering films on board. Before going to bed, the majority of our guests study the Nepali language or read novels.

How high is the Base Camp?

It is located at a height of 5,364 meters (17,598 feet) above sea level. The journey begins at 1,600 meters in Kathmandu and ends in Kala Patthar at 5,555 meters.

How to Communicate During the Trek?

For a nominal fee, you can use the internet at the lodges, but after you reach high elevations, you’ll have to communicate via phone.

Our office will connect with all of our valued clients by Signal, WhatsApp, phone, Messenger, and other means at least once a day to ensure that they are fine, safe, and comfortable.

You might get some signals along the route, depending on the network you’re using, but they’re not particularly strong at high altitudes. In Kathmandu, though, you may easily obtain a local sim card.

In most cases, you will be able to connect to the internet at all of the lodges/hotels where you will be staying.

Wi-Fi is usually available during the walk-in lodges/lodges for an additional fee.

Extra personal expenses for trekking

In Kathmandu, the clients are responsible for their own meals and lodging. You may book them conveniently online, or we can do it for you if you want.

Similarly, you must pay for visa processing, travel insurance, beverages, trip snacks, hot and cold drinks, souvenirs, and tips to trekking crew members, among other things. Bringing cash (Dollars) and changing it to Rupees is recommended. In the Nepali market, only Rupees are accepted.

Trek Costs

Treks typically last 10-16 days and cost between $1200 and $1600, including domestic flights, trekking permits, food (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), a professional trek leader, porter, hotels, and a certificate of completion.

Group discounts are available. The cost of the expedition is largely determined by whether you are traveling alone or in a company. Group travel is less expensive, but private hikes offer greater flexibility.

Electricity, battery recharge, water on trekking

In all lodges, electricity for camera and phone recharge is available at an additional expense. During the trip, you can either buy pre-packaged mineral water or bring boiled water with you. You will also receive a water-purifying pill.

We advise against drinking water from rivers or taps because the water may be contaminated.

Trek travel insurance

This Everest Base Camp Trekking requires travel insurance. Before beginning the hike, all trekkers must produce a copy of their comprehensive travel insurance policy certificate to us. Medical and emergency repatriation must be covered, as well as helicopter rescue and evacuation costs at high altitudes (up to 6000m).

Based on the experiences of our former clients, we may recommend insurance firms to you. We do not, however, sell insurance coverage. Within a week of booking the trek, we ask that all trek participants provide us with their comprehensive insurance information. In an emergency, we’ll prepare a speedy, successful rescue using your insurance policy and other documentation you supplied us.

Before you acquire travel insurance, call your provider and double-check that it covers helicopter rescue and evacuation up to 6000 meters. Do not rely solely on the material of the insurance company’s website.

How to get a visa for Nepal?

Except for Indian nationals, all foreigners must have a valid visa to enter Nepal. At Tribhuvan International Airport and Nepal’s borders with India and Tibet, you can obtain an on-arrival visa. Visit www.immigration.gov.np. for additional details.

You’ll need a passport that’s valid for at least six months, a passport-size photo, and visa fees to apply for a visa. A 30-day visa costs $50 at the moment (to be paid in cash).

A free visa will be given to children under the age of ten. It is strongly recommended that you examine the current regulations. Visa regulations are subject to change at any time. Citizens of China and members of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) (Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka) are exempt from visa fees.

Certain countries’ citizens may be denied a visa upon arrival. On-arrival visas are not available for citizens of Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Cameroon, Somalia, Liberia, Ethiopia, Iraq, Palestine, and Afghanistan. If you are a citizen of one of these countries, please contact the Nepalese Embassy in your country.

Before we embark on our journey, we’ll double-check everything (luggage, equipment, etc.) during our briefing.

Currency Exchange in Nepal | USD to NPR

Nepali Rupees (NPR/Rs) is the local currency.

(1 USD = ~ Rs.124 NPR).

You can exchange major foreign currencies through local banks and legitimate money exchanges in Kathmandu and all over Thamel. Legitimate money exchanges display their ongoing exchange rates visibly to the public.

Please note – only 100 INR (Indian Rupees) and 2000 INR notes are legal in Nepal.

Despite having the security advantage of traveler’s cheques, we prefer cash exchange. It helps avoid lengthy processes and high bank commissions.

You can withdraw cash (in Rupees)from ATMs all over Kathmandu and Thamel itself. Many of these ATMs are open around the clock. The maximum withdrawal amount is 35,000 Rupees for a 500 Rupees processing fee for foreign cards.

If you use the money exchange facilities at banks and financial institutions, they impose a service charge fee of about 4% or more.

During the trek, there are no banks and money exchange services so you should exchange your money in Kathmandu, depending on how much personal expense you require. Only Nepali Rupee is accepted in trekking regions.

Most established banks in Asia will only accept foreign currency notes that are not old, torn, or faded. Please ensure that you have new, clean notes.

How much luggage can I take during the Trek?

Your luggage must not exceed 9 kilograms per trekker. One porter will be allocated to each of the two trekkers, and the total weight of their luggage should not exceed 18 kg. Our porters are never overworked.

You may, however, need to bring your own knapsack or backpack (with valuables or anything important). Carry only what you need. Excess baggage can be safely stored at your hotel or at our store for no charge.

Before we begin the journey, we will double-check everything (luggage, equipment, etc.) during our briefing.

Trek Safely

All of our client’s safety, security, and happiness are guaranteed by us. We place the highest priority on your safety. For each trip, we will bring all of the essential gear, equipment, and first-aid kits. Our guides and leaders have completed thorough first-aid training.

If a trekker becomes ill as a result of the altitude, we will analyze the situation and keep everyone safe. In the event of an emergency, the rescue chopper will be on standby to transport you back to the lower elevation. Every team member will be together for safety during the walk, and there will be no danger of being lost in hazardous terrains.

Trek difficulty

The trek’s difficulty level is rigorous, but it’s also rewarding. To be successful on this physically difficult excursion, you’ll need to be prepared ahead of time. Exercising and running on a daily basis for a few weeks prior to leaving is a good idea because it increases stamina.

The trek may be completed by novice trekkers with average fitness levels. The more fit you are, though, the more fun the trek becomes. Previous hiking experience would be beneficial, but no technical knowledge or abilities are required.

This trip can be completed by participants who can hike for 4 to 6 hours per day at a reasonable pace while carrying a light day pack. The hike takes you across rocky mountains with severe ascents and descents.

All trekkers must be in good health in order to participate. They must be in good physical shape and possess a positive attitude, self-confidence, and tenacity. Before booking the trek, participants with pre-existing medical issues such as heart, lung, or blood disease should contact us or visit their physician.

Keeping Everest Khumbu Icefall Glacier Region Clean

Our philosophy is to photograph the voyage while leaving only footsteps. We believe in sustainable tourism and exclusively offer eco-friendly excursions.

We collaborate with the Kathmandu Environmental Education Project (KEEP) to plan eco-friendly itineraries that satisfy the needs of both tourists and local populations in the trekking areas.

Our knowledgeable guide/Sherpa will accompany us on the trek to ensure your safety and comfort. Your stuff will be carried by porters.

Our members are locals from high Himalayan remote places, and they have exceptional physical endurance at high altitudes.

We value all of our employees, so we pay them well and take care of their insurance, clothing, food, and lodging throughout the trip. When our guides and porters become unwell or injured, they receive medical attention.

Only happy people can make others happy, thus we always make sure that our team members are happy. Members of our trek/expedition team have the following qualifications:

  • Authorized Trekking Guide Training Certificate
  • Intensive Wilderness First Aid Training

On the last day of the walk, the majority of our guests offer advice. The amount you tip is totally up to you, and it may be more or less based on your impression of service quality, the length of your trip, your budget, and your appreciation for their efforts.

If you wish to stay in Nepal for a few days after the trip, we can arrange enjoyable activities for you, such as exploring areas in and around Kathmandu, Chitwan jungle safari, paragliding, rafting, canoeing, and so on.

Feedback

We offer a farewell meal at the end of the trek, and we will also award you with a trek completion certificate after dinner (hard copy). It’s also a great opportunity to tell us about your experience and provide us feedback.

USEFUL INFO ABOUT EBC TREK

We strongly advise our clients to extend their trip by a few days to ensure that they do not miss their return flight.

Due to the weather, flights from Kathmandu to Lukla and Lukla to Kathmandu may be delayed. We will do our best to reschedule the flights to and from Lukla for the next available flight in such instances. There is, nevertheless, the possibility of flight delays or cancellations.

To avoid any complications with foreign flights, we recommend that our clients add two extra days to their itinerary.

In the event of a delay, and if you so desire, we can arrange for a helicopter to transport you. However, depending on demand and supply, it costs around USD 500-1000. Although there are unlikely to be any delays, if they do occur, we may assist you in planning additional activities for your extended stay.

Please note that the EBC Trek Package has set departure dates from Kathmandu and can be customized to match your needs and timetable. Please take a look at the dates we have set for your excursion. If the date does not suit you, please let us know and we can arrange a hike for you.

The schedule indicated above is a general guideline; please be aware that it may need to be modified due to external events without our control, such as unstable weather, housing, and campsite availability, unforeseen governmental decrees, trail, and ecological conditions, to name a few.

Despite the fact that it is rare, modifications could arise that dramatically modify the initial plan. You cannot hold us liable for delays or changes that occur due to circumstances beyond our control. In the event of an itinerary change or the necessity to redirect to different trails or regions, the Lead Guide will decide on the best rerouting after consulting with the group and their interests.

We are excited to accompany you on your life-changing journey to EBC via some of the world’s most breathtaking scenery.

Itinerary

Upon arrival, continue to the outside of the airport terminal where our representative will meet you and drive you to the hotel, which will take about 20 minutes. Please keep an eye out for your name on the signage. In Kathmandu, spend the night in a hotel.

Today, we will fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,827 m.) in the morning, parallel to the massive Himalayan range that separates Nepal and China. We will be landed on a runway after 40 minutes, and our caretaker will assist us in carrying our luggage. We'll next trek down to the Dudh Kosi River, where we'll join the main Namche Bazaar path. We'll shortly arrive at our tea house in Phakding after passing across the tiny Ghat (2550m) area.

Today, we begin our hike from Phakding and cross the river to trek all the way through a rhododendron, blue pine forest, and other areas, which is a truly spectacular experience, especially in the spring. We cross the Dudh Kosi at Benkar and enjoy the views of snow-capped mountains such as Kusum Kanguru (6,369 m), Thamserku (6,623 m), and others. After there, the path becomes more challenging, with a perpendicular rise to Namche Bazaar. You'll now go upstream on flat territory along the bank to the spot where the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers converge. We shall rise to Namche Bazaar after crossing one of the river's suspension bridges. We have the most incredible vivid views of big peaks such as Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and Taweche. In Namche Bazaar, spend the night in a hotel.

Today, we'll look at Namche Bazaar's proper adaption to the environment during its peak. Namche is a thriving town nestled in a vast, well-protected depression. The incredible view from here includes a stunning vista of the Khumbu peaks as well as spectacular views of Everest. After breakfast, we can either hike to Thami (3,810 m.) via the beautiful Bhote Khola River Valley or visit the national park headquarters to see the peculiar Sherpa culture and way of life on display.

Today, we'll descend through the Khumjung village to Shanasa, where we'll join the main Everest route. We'll continue walking to Trashinga and then descend to Phunkitenga to cross the Dudh Koshi (3,250 m.). It's a vast and dramatic ascent through fir, black juniper, pine, and rhododendron woodland to reach Tengboche Monastery throughout the day. We can view massive peaks like AmaDablam, Kantega, and Mount Everest from here. Tonight we will be staying in a hotel in Tengboche.

At Debuche, we'll take a short stroll through a forest of birch, juniper, fir, and rhododendron. We simply go up at a steady pace here, but due to the altitude, we have to pick up the pace as the day progresses. The trail leads to Pangboche after crossing over the Imja Khola, where we can glimpse the majestic Ama Dablam peak. Then, before crossing the Imja Khola again to reach Dingboche, we'll climb all the way across unspoiled alpine landscapes.

Today, we leave Pheriche and follow the trail up to the Khumbu's drain. The trail then climbs to the Khumbu Glacier after an hour. Dughla makes up over half of the ascent to the moraine. The trail continues to slope steeply from Dughla to the crest of the moraine. Prior to arriving in Lobuche, the path now moves on a flat level on the west side of the moraine.

Today is the day you've been looking forward to the entire journey. In Lobuche, you will be greeted by a magnificent sunrise. The part from here to Gorak Shep will be quick, and you'll be there in no time. Once you've arrived at Gorak Shep, you can lighten your load and proceed to Base Camp. We'll return here because it's the nearest settlement/teahouses to Everest Base Camp. Before reaching base camp, you must complete several snow-covered and glacial stretches. A big stone will mark the Everest Base Camp, with scores of yellow camps visible in the distance. You may have a fantastic day here and capture some memories with your camera. This hike will also be worthwhile due to the close proximity of spectacular peaks. On your way back, take in some breathtaking vistas of the valley below and the Khumbu Glacier. Back in Gorak Shep, rest after a long day. In Goraksheph, spend the night in a teahouse.

Today, we'll get up early to catch a sight of the dawn from Kalapather summit. It is one of the region's most popular natural locations for viewing Everest. You'll arrive at Kalapather after a couple of hours of comfortable hiking from Gorak Shep. The unimpeded view of the Everest Massif, including the Lhotse and Nuptse peaks, is breathtaking. After some time in Kalapather, we'll return to Gorak Shep for breakfast. It will take roughly 4 hours of leisure walking from Gorak Shep to Pheriche.
This little community is recognized for giving visitors a glimpse into the Sherpa way of life in Khumbu. In Pheriche, spend the night in a teahouse.

Today is the first day of your walk back to Namche Bazar from Pheriche. The trail gives the EBC trip a unique viewpoint and allows you to have a leisurely stroll. Stop and converse with the locals, and you'll arrive in no time at Namche Bazar. You can celebrate reaching Everest Base Camp in Namche, which offers a plethora of cafes, pubs, restaurants, and lodges that cater to trekkers. In Namche, spend the night in a hotel.

The final day of the Everest Base Camp Trek allows you to learn more about the local culture in the Nepalese hills. Try Himalayan delicacies and spend time with the Sherpa community in the little villages and settlements. While traveling alongside the Dudh Koshi River, you can get one last glimpse of the Khumbu Himalayas. After arriving in Lukla, take a day off.
In Lukla, spend the night in a teahouse.

Be aware that flights from Lukla to Kathmandu are more likely to depart early in the morning. You can board the jet for another scenic ride back to Kathmandu whenever it arrives. We'll pick you up from the airport and take you to your hotel. Today, you have the option of seeing various magnificent places in the Kathmandu Valley in your spare time. You can also go shopping at Thamel for Nepalese souvenirs. In Kathmandu, spend the night in a hotel.
